The company is dedicated to providing compassionate care AND WILL ALWAYS GO THE EXTRA MILE. Keera joined after earning her degree in Health and Social Care, adding fresh expertise to the team.

Meet the Founders

Tracey Chuwen – Care Manager Joined: 2010

Tracey is the founder of Assist and Care, established in 2010. Her caring journey began at just 15 when her mother was diagnosed with a benign brain tumour. Throughout her life, Tracey cared for her mother and father during his battle with cancer, and her aunty with dementia. This personal experience highlighted the lack of holistic care available, driving her to create a service that meets the diverse needs of both clients and their families. Tracey’s professional career spans individual homes, nursing homes, hospitals, and working with adults with learning disabilities. She brings a holistic approach to care, aiming to deliver the highest standard of community care.

Keera Taylor – Managing Director Joined: 2014

Keera’s passion for care was nurtured from a young age, assisting her grandparents, especially her wheelchair-bound grandmother. Motivated by these experiences, Keera pursued a degree in Health and Social Care. Since joining Assist and Care in 2014, she has brought organisational skills, empathy, sensitivity, and understanding to the company. Keera works alongside her mother, Tracey, ensuring that the company continues to provide compassionate and personalised care to all clients.

Meet the Senior Team

Susan – Assistant Manager Joined: 2023

Susan began her caring journey at 19, looking after her grandmother in her final year. Her commitment to dignified and compassionate care grew stronger when her son suffered a brain injury at 15, highlighting the inadequacies of available support. Susan’s professional path led her through roles in domiciliary care, working with children and adults with complex needs, and returning to elderly care, which she finds most fulfilling. Joining Assist and Care in 2023, Susan brings a wealth of experience and a heartfelt dedication to providing the highest standard of care tailored to each individual’s needs and wishes. Although she is office-based, Susan regularly visits and works with clients, ensuring a personal touch in her role.

Rehana – Care Coordinator Joined: 2019

Rehana’s journey with Assist and Care began as a Community Care Assistant, where her dedication and commitment quickly caught our attention. Recognising her exceptional organisational skills and natural ability to connect with both clients and caregivers, Rehana seamlessly transitioned into the role of Care Coordinator. In her capacity, Rehana plays a pivotal role in matching clients with compatible care assistants, fostering meaningful working relationships that prioritise individual preferences and needs. With meticulous attention to detail, she oversees the day-to-day client schedules, ensuring seamless coordination of care services to deliver the highest standard of support.

Shamim — Senior Care Assistant, Moving and Positioning Lead Joined: 2018

Shamim’s journey at Assist and Care began as a Community Care Assistant, where her passion for providing exceptional care shone brightly. Over the years, Shamim’s confidence and expertise in caregiving have flourished, leading her to assume the role of Moving and Positioning Trainer. Drawing from her own experiences and challenges faced in the field, Shamim is dedicated to imparting her knowledge and skills to new members of our caregiving team. Her leadership in this capacity ensures that all care assistants are equipped with the necessary tools and techniques to deliver safe and effective care, enhancing the overall quality of our services.

Barbora – Senior Care Assistant, Medication Lead Joined: 2019

Barboras career in social care started in 2009 in her home country of Czech Republic, where her passion for delivering compassionate care became evident from the start. As Barbora’s role evolved into that of a Senior Care Assistant, her commitment to excellence and attention to detail stood out. In addition to carrying out spot checks, observations, and quality reviews, Barbora has taken on the added responsibility of assisting with medication management within the company. Her dedication to ensuring the safe and accurate administration of medications underscores our commitment to providing comprehensive and person-centred care to our clients.

Who We Are

Assist and Care is a family-run independent Domiciliary Care Company led by a dedicated mother-daughter team, Tracey and Keera. Founded in 2010 by Tracey, who has extensive experience caring for her own relatives. The company was created to provide compassionate and personalised care to the community. Keera joined the team after earning her degree in Health and Social Care, bringing fresh expertise and a shared commitment to quality care.

Proudly rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Assist and Care prides itself on going the extra mile, delivering quality care and support within the local community. All staff are dementia-trained and recognised as Dementia Friends. The team is currently pursuing level 2 and 3 qualifications in Dementia Care, with dementia care rapidly becoming a speciality of the company. They understand the importance of giving carerivers a much-deserved break, whether to meet friends, run errands, or enjoy some personal time.

Having personally experienced the challenges of finding trusted care for loved ones, the team at Assist and Care is deeply committed to providing care that is personal, compassionate, and respectful. They deliver quality, person-centred care with continuity, ensuring clients and their families can build trusted relationships with their caregivers.

    Do I need experience or qualifications?

    No previous experience or specific qualifications are required. However, you must work towards the mandatory Care Certificate and complete your training units.

    When will I be required to work?

    Your working hours will be based on your availability provided during the application. Flexibility is key, as we provide care from 6am to 10pm, 7 days a week, and you must be available to work alternate weekends.

    Do I need a car?

    Having a car is beneficial as you may need to take clients to appointments, shopping, or outings. If you do not have a car, you must be willing to travel between client homes, and some staff cycle to their care calls.
